President sacks Director General of GES
The President of Ghana has dismissed Prof Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa from his position as Director-General of the Ghana Education Service. GES
In a letter dated Monday, October 17, 2022, the President thanked Prof. Opoku-Amankwa for his service to the nation and wished him the best in his future endeavors. The letter was signed by the Secretary to the President, Nana Bediatuo Asante.
The Minister of Education has informed the President that the exigencies that required Prof. Opoku-Amankwa's skills and expertise as Director-General of the Ghana Education Service no longer exist.
Prof. Opoku-Amankwa was appointed Director-General of the Ghana Education Service in 2017. In January 2021, he was seconded from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
