The National Teaching Council has opened registration for the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GPLE) for the year 2022. The closing date for registration is November 18, 2022.
The GPLE is a professional licensing examination that qualified teachers must pass in order to be certified as professional teachers in Ghana. The examination is designed to assess the minimum knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes necessary to deliver effectively in schools.
Eligible candidates for the GPLE include all prospective teachers who hold a diploma in Basic Education (DBE), a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), or a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), as well as those who have completed a Master of Education (M.Ed). Candidates who wrote the GPLE but were unsuccessful in some papers may re-register to sit for those papers again.
Registration fees for the GPLE are as follows:
a) Fresh candidates are required to pay 350 Ghana cedis to register for the examination.
b) Candidates who are re-sitting a paper are to pay 150 Ghana cedis.
c) Candidates who are re-sitting two papers are to pay 210 Ghana cedis.
d) Candidates who are re-sitting all three papers are to pay 350 Ghana cedis.
Candidates can make payment at any branch of Prudential Bank Ltd nationwide, or through mobile money payment using the short code *772*51# across all networks. After paying the required fees, candidates must take their Pin and Serial No. from the bank and log onto http://exams.ntc.gov.gh to complete their registration form. They must then upload their passport-size photograph into the system.
